Amended Rule 605 execution-quality reporting takes effect. The SEC's 2024 amendments to Regulation NMS Rule 605 became effective August 1, 2026, broadening the reporting population beyond market centers to include certain broker-dealers, and requiring separate reports for ATS and single-dealer-platform order flow; first monthly reports under the new regime are due by end of September 2026. FINRA's new electronic Designated Participant Authorization Form, live since June 17, is required for any member designating FINRA as its Rule 605 reporter. FINRA Information Notice

Cboe BZX gets accelerated approval to loosen crypto-ETP listing standards. The SEC granted accelerated approval to a Cboe BZX rule change amending Rule 14.11(e)(4) (Commodity-Based Trust Shares) to add a "digital commodity" definition, remove the passive-management-only requirement, and permit actively-managed strategies with a limited buffer of non-conforming assets. It widens the range of crypto-linked products that can list under generic (non-bespoke) standards, continuing the build-out of the crypto-ETP shelf on Cboe. Federal Register notice

Long-Term Stock Exchange market-maker overhaul gets extended SEC review. The SEC designated a longer period (to September 16, 2026) to act on LTSE's proposed rules establishing formal Market Maker and Market Maker Authorized Trader definitions, a registration framework, and an Assigned Market Maker program under Rules 11.150/11.151 — a structural build-out for an exchange that currently has thin market-maker infrastructure. No decision yet; the comment period closed July 9. Federal Register notice
