United States
No new SEC rule proposals or adoptions, no-action or exemptive letters of structural weight, or market-structure litigation over the weekend. SRO filings were limited to procedural housekeeping — an LTSE statutory-disqualification rule amendment aligning its definitions with Cboe BZX, and implementation delays on two Nasdaq options-exchange filings — none of structural significance.
No new Federal Reserve communications beyond Friday's Jackson Hole keynote from Chair Warsh, already covered. No FOMC meeting falls in this window; the fed funds target range stays at 3.50%–3.75%.
Canada
CSA and CIRO issue joint guidance on prediction-market event contracts. Published 27 August, the guidance states that event contracts tied to sports and entertainment outcomes fall outside securities and derivatives legislation, and that CIRO does not consider it appropriate to approve further dealer-member applications to trade them; two CIRO dealer members remain authorized to facilitate a limited set of event contracts under existing terms and conditions, and anyone trading contracts that are themselves securities or derivatives must still meet applicable requirements. CSA/CIRO joint notice
No other material items from CSA/OSC, CIRO or TMX in the window. Bank of Canada's next rate announcement is 2 September; the policy rate has stood at 2.25% since 15 July.
Latin America
No material items from B3/CVM, BMV/BIVA/CNBV, CMF/CNV or BCRA in the window. No new central-bank decisions: Copom's most recent cut (Selic to 14.00%) was 5 August and Banxico's most recent cut (to 6.50%) was 6–7 August, both outside this window.
