United Kingdom

London Stock Exchange to launch tokenised UK equity structures with Payward. LSEG announced 1 September, subject to FCA approval, plans to list tokenised versions of UK-listed shares ("xStocks") for trading on its planned 24-hour venue, LSE 24, from 2027. Payward (Kraken's parent) intends to make the 100 largest LSE-listed equities available as xStocks via the Kraken/xStocks Alliance platforms outside the UK "in the coming weeks" — UK investors are excluded for now — and the two firms are exploring use of LSEG's Digital Securities Depository for settlement and asset servicing.
