Africa
Nigeria SEC launches full e-Registration for capital market operators. The SEC has moved post-registration services for existing Capital Market Operators (renewals, updates, approvals) fully online via its ePortal, with online application-to-approval processing for the covered services from 10 August 2026; new-entrant registration is not yet in scope. It is part of the Commission's push to cut manual processing and shorten CMO regulatory turnaround times, alongside its parallel effort to hold trade-fail rates near zero under the T+1 settlement cycle. Egypt: FRA, EGX and Tax Authority form standing committee on capital-markets tax treatment. The Financial Regulatory Authority, the Egyptian Tax Authority and EGX have agreed a permanent joint committee to unify tax treatment of listed and unlisted securities, investment funds and capital-market transactions, and to improve digital integration between EGX and the tax administration. This is separate from, and additional to, the state-owned-issuer IPO-readiness programme already reported (launched 26 July) — no update on that programme itself this window. Ahram Online
