SEC's Reg NMS Rule 610(e)/611 rescission comment period closes today. The 60-day comment window on the SEC's proposal to rescind the trade-through rule (Rule 611) and the locked/crossed-markets prohibition (Rule 610(e)) — docket S7-2026-20 — ran out on schedule, with no extension announced. Letters kept arriving through the deadline, including from market participants on both sides of the rescission question; the Commission has not indicated a timeline for the next step (adoption, re-proposal, or withdrawal). The FOMC did not meet in this window — its last meeting was 28–29 July, minutes are due 19 August, and the next meeting is 15–16 September. No new CFTC or FINRA items of structural weight; SRO filings over the weekend were routine fee-table amendments (MIAX, MIAX Emerald).
