SEC Investor Advisory Committee weighs scrapping the Reg NMS trade-through rule. At a 10 September public meeting, the IAC examined the Commission's pending proposal to rescind Rule 611's trade-through prohibition and the locked/crossed-quote provisions — a rule that has anchored order-routing and best-execution behavior for two decades — alongside a separate panel on AI use in company disclosures. No rule has been adopted; the committee discussed comment letters already filed on the Commission's proposal. SEC press release

Chile's CMF drops a duplicate fraud-incident reporting requirement. An amendment to General Standard No. 539 (8 September) removes the obligation for regulated entities to separately file with CMF the semiannual fraud-incident disclosure they already publish on their own websites, effective from the second-half-2026 reporting round — a reporting-burden reduction under CMF's 2026–2027 regulatory plan.
